IM BACK after a long gap! Thanks for waitng.

Indian summer evening

cloudless blue sky
air cools
silence
broken by distant chainsaw
silence
rooks final flight
settle
silence
fading blue
sun slips below horizon
black

Each day

Each day
I see
field hedge
with curved corner
distinct
definite purpose

Each day
I wonder
why it is such
following
old parish boundary
this ancient hedge

Each day
I think
is it so
farmer's dispute of old
now forgotten
a barrier for cows

Each day
I hope
it remains
for ever
haven for wildlife
this natural protection

Each day
I see, wonder, think
and hope
my hedge
always in my mind
this hedge

Winter walk under grey sky.

Catkins a sign that Spring is not far away.

n
At last you can just see the bridge through the trees.

The arches are more clearly seen now.

Across the old style and down stone steps.

Setts bridge so solid and attractive.

The bridge and weir so peacefuI with the sound of  rushing water,
serenity, who could ask for more?

Back over the bridge
homeward bound feeling good after this lovely winter walk.

Hello to all you who read this blog.

I am still thinking, composing and writing poetry however I am realising sticking to this one narrow form of creative expression is stunting my ability to share so many beautiful aspects of the life I enjoy so much here in Cornwall.

I will begin with a photo which was taken within 50 metres from here in Back Lane.

daffs

a friend came round
she brought some daffs
then stayed a while
we had some laughs

exchanged our news
she left at last
after the chat
time went so fast

haiku poem 2

hail

loud hail overnight
three times woken eyes open
finger nails tapping

going out daylight
fast hail spots grass hat coat white
ice woman moving

cold outside hail wind
hard ice unceasing descent
front door home again

warm inside look out
watch storm black sky develops
gravel  thrown at glass

no snow, lots of snow

all the UK covered
towns, villages and roads
with heavy snow, blizzards
frozen day and night

children in Cornwall
see all the snow in tv
the air feels so cold
outside on grass for play

across the country schools
closed due to snowy roads
snowmen, sledging, great fun
play from morn to night

their school stays open
disappointment here
playing out at breaks
winter gardens muddy mess

this divide of weather types
up country, cross the Tamar
seems unfair to Cornish children
who watch, so near and yet so far
