Walking to Paradise

In a deep and hidden part of Cornwall
is a lane
along which I am walking
 to Paradise
between the earthen banks
where brambles flourish
nettles thrive
the butterflies, bees,
little birds and fairies
reside amongst them
undisturbed.

No one lives along this way
the secrecy
 of where and what
must be retained
 at all degrees
Paradise is hard won
not easily shared
except with those
who understand
the value of mystery
confidentiality
privacy and silence.

Walking to Paradise
 I am nearly there
this air smells sweet
and sun still shines
the world seems special
in every way
birds chorus
to welcome me
to this perfect place
a cottage
named Paradise
where I find my friend.
