midwinter surfer

he ran across the grass
his colours white and green
sun bleached hair straggling
on the wetsuit in the rain

he climbed across the rocks
slipping on the weed
splashing through the surf
midwinter on the beach

this lonesome surfer floated
while waiting for the wave
it had to be a good one
he'd surf it bold and brave

Just managing to get back online and catching up with my comments (thankyou:-) and your poems. A chilly vision indeed this one, and I liked the sound of your book group too. Happy Christmas and a wishful of words for your new year.

He obviously doesn't feel the cold. I want him to come another day, because this delightful poem needs another chapter.

Doris: So glad you like the poem. I am amazed at how there is always a surfer in the sea at any time of year no matter what the temp is.
