By the old lifeboat station

Old lifeboat station stands alone
boards where windows stood
dirty white walls weather blown
many years eroded wood.

Sea is calm,so quiet, no sound
offshore water ruffles slight
like Tudor lace gently kisses ground
invisible waves, ripples no might.

Shale cliffs so low scarce there
sand is dark upon this strand
rocks caressed gently with care
tenderness in perfect band.

Suddenly run two wet suited guys
with surf boards pass so fast
straight into the sea, a big surprise
heroic, glacial to the last.

Early February day, scarves, hats for heat
air this cold, feels so free
pretty today, where water with sand meet
wild next week this fickle sea.

like your use of rhyme and alliteration and the last two lines round off the poem nicely.

CherryPie: It never ceases to amaze me that whatever the temperature there are always people in the sea wetsuited of course!

Hello Cuby, I can picture this scene with the sea and the surfers. It could be a similiar scene here on a cold Maryland beach watching the surfers in their wet suits.

Cuby said...

eileeninmd: So pleased you could picture this as I want to share the lovely places that inspire my poetry.
