UNDER
DEAD TREE
Up
on the moor
pause
by big boulder
of
metamorphosed granite
black,
hard and cruel
above
and beside
dead
tree with no green
grey
is the lichen
which
covers the branches
crane
fly hovers
lone
bee, white butterfly
quietly
flutter and flit
from
this flower to that
such
peacefulness
quiet,
muted and still
by
Colliford Lake
an
idyll unrivalled

A very wonderful and a little sad poem. by the way, I think the old trees standing there naked and grey asre so beautiful! :) like a treasure. same as your poem :)
You could be describing the tundra above treeline where I live - nice poem!
Oh I do like that last line - alliteration, consonance? Getting too old to remember the details of poetry but I'm not to old to enjoy the sound of it :-)

I like this line especially: metamorphosed granite
black, hard and cruel
Isn't it wonderful to having a blogging space to share the art which arises within us?
upwoods: I love my blog! I found poetry as an expressive medium so I began to write but sharing it adds an extra dimension. Shared thoughts from a blogger's perspective. Thanks Kathy.
