thoughts on world environment day

The polar ice is melting
deforestation of the rainforest
natural resources being raped
habitats destroyed
hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, severity increased
storms, rain, snow, wind rage on.

Today on Bodmin Moor
silence interrupted
by sweet sounds of a skylark
a grey squirrel scampers
a small rabbit dives into the briars
butterflies, bumblebees,
interact with harmony
without discord
a small congruent population.

The polar bears still struggle
oran otangs hungry with homes destroyed
use fewer fossil fuels
respect the locality
hold the world in esteem
and help our global future.

Yvonne: I am so glad as I did too when I had written it.
