Walking in the storm

I am walking in the storm
passing
wet sheep backs to the wind
seeming unperturbed
by natures game
meteorological mayhem
with wind and rain

I am walking in the storm
watching
buzzards fighting with the wind
troubled by currents
unseen but felt
air pressure playing
with wind and rain

I am walking in the storm
surprising
greylag geese rising in a flock
restless troubled
then back to grazing
unsettled atmosphere
this wind and rain

I am walking in the rain
battered
rain slicing on my face
stinging cutting numbing
nature’s anger unfurled
ferocious elements
this wind and rain

I am sitting by the fire
sheltering
inside in the warm
tingling glowing
raging on outside
muffled by the walls
this wind and rain

I am loving
this Hebridean storm

You say this isn't a nature blog, but this poem, and many of your others, certainly conjur up some clear visions of nature at it's best!

KaHolly: Thanks for this, well I guess it is nature 'raw in tooth and claw' rather than specific studies of birds, flowers etc :)

Nature is beautiful in all its forms, I feel I am walking with you in the storm :-)
