between trees

sun shines
breeze blows
through copse
new young leaves

between trees
shadow flickers
sunlight flirts
coquettishly

zephyr wavers
foliage shimmers
transient sunbeam
pianissimo touch

magical air
faeries touch
spectral moments
perception extraordinaire

cloud blanket
obliterates
fantasy world
between trees

Beautiful!

Our family loves olives, by the way. Particularly green ones, but we like black too!

What a truly lovely, escapist picture, Poet. The images are so intense and then over in an instant. It reminds me of eating a chocolate bar! Well done!

Cuby said...

Doris: I had never equated this experience with consuming a chocolate bar so gives me thought to ponder! So glad that you liked this poem. Thanks you for your comments.

Welshcakes: So pleased that you could visualise all this and as always thanks for commenting.

How lovely! This is a very visual poem.I really like it and have read it four times and will do so again after writing this comment.

I have also just read 'Three Little Girls' and enjoyed that too, it really conveyed a hot, sunny day at the seaside and perfectly sums up the 'tears before bedtime' experience which I'm sure many of us remember from our own childhood.

I thought I had commented on 'beneath the granite headstones' I certainly read it and have just re- read it, a very moving poem!

Nice poem... I love sitting on the deck watching our big shade trees blow in the breeze... It's neat also seeing that happen when the sun is peaking through... Love it!!!!

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Cuby, a lovely poem and very fitting for my scene outside right now. The leaves are appearing on the trees and I can see the sunlight filtering thru the tree limbs. Lovely writing!

A beautiful spring forest. I'm glad we don't see many of those clouds :)

Cuby said...

eileeninmd: This scene is the same all over the world in deciduous woods everywhere but only where sun and breeze play together. Thanks for your commet.

Al: Your comment sums it up, thanks.

I have always loved the word "coquettishly."

Cuby said...

Maria: It was a great opportunity to use the 'coquettishly' which is such a great word to roll around your mouth!

Its lovely Claire, but not very topical.{:))
If you are getting as much rain as we are anyway.

I think you've captured movement and atmosphere well here. I like " sunlight flirts coquettishly" very much...the sun is such a tease nowadays! and the use of the word " zephyr" immediately afterwards continues the use of personification well. Your last words " cloud ... trees" place the scene in reality.

Roy: This was a rare sunny afternoon in between the wet days which have been the usual form recently. Thanks for reading this poem. So pleased you liked it.
