Each day
Each day
I see
field hedge
with curved corner
distinct
definite purpose
Each day
I wonder
why it is such
following
old parish boundary
this ancient hedge
Each day
I think
is it so
farmer's dispute of old
now forgotten
a barrier for cows
Each day
I hope
it remains
for ever
haven for wildlife
this natural protection
Each day
I see, wonder, think
and hope
my hedge
always in my mind
this hedge

I know how you feel, hedges are so lovely to look at and so important for wildlife, yet so vulnerable to removal and destruction

Lovely poem - again! :)
Lovely weekend to you! :)
Hedges are special because, although they are man-made barriers, they become so much a part of the natural environment. Your poem really evokes this feeling. Lovely!

So important to shelter wildlife. I hope your hedge remains, also.
