This is my last post from The Isle of Lewis as we leave tomorrow morning to catch the lunch time ferry to The Isle of Skye. From there we will drive our VW California (camper van – name Morrison) all the way to Cornwall stopping to sleep as often as we want. The total journey door to door is 798 miles. Next time I place a post it will be from Cornwall.

I have found so much inspiration in the wild landscape here on Lewis.

Sheep

Here on The Outer Hebrides
It seems
The sheep is king

They walk everywhere
the hills
the moors
the tracks
 the roads

Sheep graze everywhere
the fields
 the gardens
the crags
 the machair

They sleep everywhere too
the verges
the roads
the mountain
the beach

On The Outer Hebrides
The sheep is king

P.S. I do love sheep with
their funny little faces.

CherryPie: We are now back in Cornwall having had a fantastic two+ weeks away. More material for poems in my head so I'll have to see if they can be written away from where the idea began to form! :)
